Cllr Jones outlines the main purpose of the Council Plan, and sets out the Council’s main focus for the coming few years.
Strategic Management and Economic Development
Details our plans for improving the economy of the county, looking at employment and emergency planning issues, key areas of the county and new funding opportunities.
Corporate Resources Planning and Management
Describes how we will improve our management of finance and property resources.
Community Services
Outlines our priorities for combating crime and anti-social behaviour as well as improving library services, adult education and the arts.
Children's and Adults' Services
Overview of performance and strategic direction of newly formed Children's Services Adult Social Care service areas developed from the Children's and Adults' Services Department.
Children's Services
Includes education, schools, and services aimed at parents, young people and families. There is a strong focus on improving cooperation between different services and organisations.
Adult Social Care
Focuses on the needs of residents over 18. These services are aimed for example at those who may be disabled, elderly, needing help at home or in residential care. It includes health care and housing matters.
Transport and Environment
Details plans to improve road and rail travel, road safety and parking facilities, waste disposal and wetland management.
