Performance Assessment Framework (PAF) for Social Care
The Performance Assessment Framework (PAF) is a collection of 50 performance indicators (PIs) which together give a view of how local councils are serving their residents in the delivery of adults’ and children’s social care needs.
From April 2004, the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) assumed responsibility for the development of the PAF performance indicators. CSCI uses the indicators as part of the evidence to inform their assessments of councils’ performance. CSCI also uses these indicators and other quantitative and qualitative information to work with councils in their planning and monitoring of performance throughout the year.
More information about the performance indicators themselves is available on the CSCI website.
