Improving services using new technologies

We are constantly looking to improve access to information and services – those that we provide and those provided by district and borough councils.

Making the best use of technology to improve services for local people is a key aim for the Council. For full details please see our Implementing Electronic Government statement.

Plans for egovernment

The key aspects of the Council's plans for egovernment include:

  • deliver further efficiencies in service delivery
  • provide better tools for front line staff
  • implement our Customer Access Strategy, including a network of community help points and Internet kiosks (with partners), and internally new customer facing service based contact centres
  • support and develop the work of the East Sussex E-Government Partnership (Access East Sussex), under the overall direction of the East Sussex Strategic Partnership (ESSP)
  • deliver the corporate Next Generation Network, combining voice and data technology.

Website statistics

This website gives residents and visitors a wealth of information about services available to them. We also aim to provide a flavour of what is happening across the county – from Council improvement plans to what’s on in local communities.

Future plans

We are adding new features to the website every day to make it easier for residents to access Council services at their convenience. We are also involving residents in testing our new website features to ensure they are accessible and easy to use.
