National government, MPs and MEPs

At a national level, the country is divided into 659 Parliamentary Constituencies and voters in each area elect a member of parliament to sit in the House of Commons and represent them. Find out more about how parliament works and the responsibilities of MPs:

Members of Parliament (MPs)

We'll add links to the websites of new MPs as they are established:

Find an MP using your postcode: Parliament website

Find out what an MP has said in Parliament: They Work For You website

Find an MP's voting record: The Public Whip website

MPs and Councillors in Brighton & Hove: Brighton & Hove City Council website.

Members of the European Parliament (MEPs)

Each MEP has a specialist area of responsibility. The European Parliament website lists the committees that the MEP's sit on. If you want to raise an issue with an MEP, you can choose which you think would best suit your needs – either because of the issue, your own political persuasion or where you live.
