Audit and Best Value Scrutiny Committee
What this committee does
This scrutiny committee reviews budgeting, audit, finances, information technology and e-government. It also manages the best value review programme. This committee has two functions:
Scrutiny of audit matters:
- risk management
- corporate governance
- management arrangements to ensure probity as well as legal and regulatory compliance.
Scrutiny of economic development:
- strategic management
- property management
- policy and finance
- legal and democratic services
- personnel
- communications
- any functions not specifically within the scope of other scrutiny committees.
The committee also manages any best value review projects within a programme agreed by Cabinet and Full Council.
