What this committee does

This scrutiny committee looks at issues that fall within the scope of the Adult Social Care Department.

The functions of the department cover:

Client groups, including:

• adults with physical disabilities
• mental illness
• learning disabilities
• older people
• carers

Commissioned services, including:

• residential and nursing care
• multi-disciplinary community support teams
• day centres
• home care (including supporting people in their own homes)
• carer support

Community Safety, including:

• crime
• domestic violence
• alcohol and drug abuse
• the work of our East Sussex Safer Communities Partnership
