Committees and meetings
All the most important council meetings are open to the public. Many agendas, reports and minutes for East Sussex County Council committees and meetings are available online. Others can be obtained on request. Go to the relevant page for each meeting to find out more. At full council meetings you can also ask questions or present petitions.
Full council meetings
Meetings of the full council are usually held every two months, at County Hall in Lewes. Agendas are published in advance, meetings are open to the public and can be viewed live on this website.
Cabinet meetings
The Cabinet is responsible for most day-to-day Council decisions. It is elected by the full council and meets approximately every month.
Lead Member meetings
In addition to attending full Cabinet meetings, Cabinet members hold separate decision-making meetings for their area of special responsibility. These ‘lead members’ have the power to make some decisions individually.
Scrutiny committees
The scrutiny committees review Council services to ensure best value for local people. Find out more about the role of scrutiny.
