Gypsy and Traveller review
As part of the South East Plan, the South East England Regional Assembly (SEERA) is developing policies on meeting the accommodation needs of Gypsies and Travellers in the region.
What is the South East Plan?
The South East Plan has been prepared by SEERA and will set out a long-term strategy for future development in the region. It will provide the guiding framework for the detailed local development frameworks and other plans prepared by local authorities.

Who does what?
The government, local authorities and other partners – as well as the South East England Regional Assembly (SEERA) – all have important roles to play in preparing and implementing the South East Plan. Find out who is responsible for different aspects of the overall process.
Core regional policies
The draft South East Plan includes core regional policies that are intended to apply across the whole of the region.
Sub-regional strategies
The South East Plan will establish specific housebuilding targets for every district and unitary authority in the region. It will also include additional policies for a number of sub-regions (including the Sussex Coast) where a distinct approach is needed to tackle key issues.
