What we do

‘Connected Practice’ underpins all the work we do in children’s social work at East Sussex. This means building and maintaining strong relationships with children, young people, and vulnerable families well as with our colleagues and other professionals across the county.

We offer an outstanding environment for social work professionals to thrive in their careers. In your team you will be welcomed from day one and will receive ongoing encouragement and support from your manager and colleagues.

Career progression and development is incredibly important to us, which is why we have a dedicated Social Work Education Team (SWET) to help tailor development to each social worker.

I think being a Social Worker is amazing, it’s not easy, but it’s the best job I’ve ever done. I love doing it, I love meeting children, I love meeting families and I think that if you’re interested in it, and if you feel like you’ve got the energy and enthusiasm, you can absolutely make changes.
