This course aimed at raising the awareness of the role of the carer, and the support available to them.
It can be taken by carers themselves, council and school staff, GPs, or anyone else interested in this issue.
The course was designed by the Adult Social Care and Children's Services departments at the County Council, and launched in February 2011.
About the course
The course takes no more than 45 minutes to complete. It's broken down into bite-sized modules so it can be studied in short sessions. People can find the specific information they need, when they need it. It includes:
- Who are carers? – problems and challenges, real carers' stories.
- Carers' legal rights – key facts on the carer's assessment, carer's employment rights.
- Meeting the needs of carers – how services are provided to carers and information on services to support carers in East Sussex.
