Adult Protection / Safeguarding vulnerable adults – policy and procedures

The ‘Sussex Multi-Agency Adult Protection Policy and Procedures for Safeguarding Adults’ is about protecting vulnerable people from harm or abuse. Everyone has the right to live in a safe environment free from abuse.

‘Safeguarding adults’ is the name of the national standards which give guidance on how to protect vulnerable people from abuse.

We have a duty to protect you if you are at risk of abuse, whether it be financial, physical, sexual, discriminatory, psychological or through neglect. We take all allegations of abuse seriously and our procedures ensure that we have prompt methods for alerting, reporting, investigating and managing your protection.
