How do I pay?

After the amount you have to pay for your services has been calculated by us, there are two main methods of paying for your services.

Services arranged by us:

  • If the services we have arranged for you are provided by us, we will send you an invoice for the amount you have to pay. You can pay with a standing order, direct debit, cash, cheque or postal order. You can pay weekly, monthly, or sometimes every three months. These arrangements will vary, depending on what you are paying for. For more information on how to pay download our information leaflet Paying for Community Care services.
  • If the services we have arranged for you are provided by one of our approved providers, the provider of that service will arrange to collect your contribution. They will tell you about the ways that you can pay.

Services arranged by you:

  • you can arrange your own help and support and we can give the money for you to make the payments. This is called a direct payment.
  • an alternative flexible payment option is the voucher payment scheme for respite care services
  • another alternative payment scheme for people with a learning disability who want to arrange their own social care services, is independent budget holders scheme.
