Temporary support at home or a stay away from your house (often called ‘respite care’) can help after an illness, provide you or your carer with some breathing space, and give you an idea of what it might be like to permanently move to a care home.
There are many different ways to take a break. You might want to stay in a residential care home for a short period of time. Or, if you want to continue sleeping at home, you can go to a care home for day care.
