Health information and events in libraries

You can get help with health issues and how to stay healthy by visiting your local library.

Books and audiobooks

There are books and audiobooks about a wide range of physical and mental health issues, including books in other languages. Our 'Books on prescription' self-help books are recommended by mental health practitioners to help people who are finding it difficult to cope or need advice on specific emotional or mental health problems.

Health organisations and support groups

We have leaflets and posters about health organisations, support groups and local services. You can find and advertise support groups online with our East Sussex Community Information Service (ESCIS).

If you want to advertise events and organisations on our noticeboards, hold an exhibition or need help adding your details to ESCIS, please ask staff at your local library.

Finding health information

Our library staff are trained to help you find the information you need, or you can search for information online using our free computers and recommended websites.

Health and wellbeing events

Relaxing with a good book can be a great way to unwind, so why not try one of our reading groups or read aloud groups.

You can also get advice at our Ask an Expert events with local and national health organisations, such as the Alzheimer's Society and Care for the Carers.
