Key developments in Adult Social Care

Support With Confidence scheme – launching this Autumn
From cooking or cleaning, helping with shopping or bathing, to odd jobs or taxi services – anyone who needs these services will be able to use our directory of Approved providers from October 2010.
Social care is changing – Putting People First and self-directed support
We are gradually changing the way people receive care and support, so that it gives them more independence, choice and control over their own lives. For example, people can choose if they want Adult Social Care or another agency to arrange home care, or whether they would prefer to hire a personal assistant.
Age Well East Sussex
The project aimed to replace existing buildings at Mount Denys and Pinehill in Hastings, Ridgewood Rise in Uckfield and Harvard Road in Ringmer. On 8 June 2010 the Cabinet decided to withdraw from the Private Finance Initiative (PFI) process, and achieve the required services through a different route.
Milton Grange, Eastbourne
Milton Grange is a new building that provides improved levels of service, such as respite, transitional and day-care services for older people who require a specialist support service and will help those with depression, schizophrenia or anxiety.
Downlands Court
A £6.4 million extra-care housing scheme called Downlands Court is opened in September 2009 on the site of the old Downlands day centre in Peacehaven. Extra-care housing offers older people a ‘home for life' with a 24-hour on site care team.
Warwick House
We've started work on Warwick House, a new £5 million development in Seaford which will include a brand new library, adult day care centre and supported living flats. We hope to open this new building by the end of 2012.
