Key safes – outdoor key boxes

A key safe is a secure metal box where you can store keys outside your front door. People you trust can open the safe using a unique combination number. It can be used by care staff, family and friends who visit regularly, so that you don't have to answer the door. It also means that, in case of an accident or sudden illness, people will still be able to get in if you need help.

Types of key safes

There are many different types of key safe – from basic models that open with keys, to more expensive ones using a combination or electronic lock. Choosing the right one for you depends on a number of factors:

  • your budget
  • how many keys you need to store safely
  • whether you want them stored as single keys or in bunches
  • who needs access
  • whether you want a police-approved model.

Find key safes
