A key safe is a secure metal box where you can store keys outside your front door. People you trust can open the safe using a unique combination number. It can be used by care staff, family and friends who visit regularly, so that you don't have to answer the door. It also means that, in case of an accident or sudden illness, people will still be able to get in if you need help.

Cost of key safes
We don't directly provide or pay for key safes, but we will give you advice and put you in touch with people who can help. You might choose to use a direct payment to buy one. Basic key safes start at around £40 and range to £60 for police-approved models, and installation costs start at about £50.
