Mobility – getting around

Daily living equipment (special equipment)

Daily living equipment can made a number of day-to-day tasks more manageable including dressing, bathing, going to the toilet, walking and eating.

Disabled parking bays

A disabled parking bay is a white outline on the road that lets you park close to your house. These bays aren't allocated to you personally, so they can be used by anyone with a Blue Badge.

Blue car badges

If you can't walk very far to or from your car, you might be eligible for a blue badge.

Adapting your home

Adapting your home with features such as rails and ramps can make it easier for you to move around and use facilities such as the bathroom or kitchen.

Wheelchairs and scooters

There is a large range of wheelchairs and scooters to choose from. The right one for you depends on your physical ability and individual needs, so it's essential to get the right advice.
