'Meals on Wheels' for existing customers

I've booked a meal but I need to go out

If you have booked a meal but you need to go out at the time when meals on wheels will deliver to you, you must ring Apetito to let them know. You must cancel your meal by 10am on the day you will receive it. If you do not let them know, you will be charged for your meal.

'Meals on Wheels' called to say no one at home

If we call at your house and we get no reply the driver will:

  • check your premises and call your name through the letterbox to try to attract your attention
  • telephone you but if no response will contact your neighbours for information.

If we cannot get hold of you and no one knows where you are, the driver will contact Adult Social Care who will telephone your next of kin and check local hospitals.

We may contact the police if we have any concerns about your well being.

How do I cancel my meal?

You must contact Apetito by 10am on the day you receive your meal otherwise you will be charged.

My meal has not arrived, what do I do?

Do I get a meal on a bank holiday or national holiday?

Apetito delivers hot meals 365 days a year. Special menus are produced over Christmas and new year. Bank holiday menus are as normal.

What time will my meal arrive?

Depending on where you live, your meal will arrive any time between 11.30am and 2pm. You can contact your local office who may be able to give you a specific time of delivery

How do I pay for my meals?

There are a number of ways for you to pay for your meals:

  • the driver will collect your payment each time your meal is delivered, this can be by cash or cheque
  • the driver will collect your payment in advance each week
  • you may pay monthly on account by cash or cheque, you will receive a statement on a monthly basis
  • if you prefer a friend or relative to pay, please let the driver know their name and address and we can send them your statement each month.
