Who do the eligibility criteria apply to?

The eligibility criteria apply to all adults who receive a social care assessment in East Sussex, However, adults with a permanent and substantial disability (including sight or hearing diffi culties, or both) will also be assessed under the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act 1970.

The eligibility criteria do not apply to carers. Please see our leaflet ‘Involving users and carers’. You can get these from Social Care Direct.

For young people who are already receiving care services, there are arrangements in place to make sure that they can move into adult social care services without any problems.
