Keep Warm, Keep Well

As the weather gets colder, we are more likely to catch colds or flu. If your body temperature drops, the risks of heart attack, stroke or breathing difficulties increase. This is especially true for older people or those with chronic health problems.

Keep Warm, Keep Well is a national campaign to combat the effects of winter that can lead to strokes, respiratory diseases and even deaths.

Where to get help

The Warm Front Scheme

The national Warm Front Advice Line will help you find out how to keep yourself and your home warm. Advice includes how to apply for grants towards heating and insulation, and benefits such as the Winter Fuel Payment to help with heating bills.

Types of help: free grants of up to £2,700 for things such as central heating, cavity wall insulation, loft insulation, draft proofing and low energy light bulbs.

Who can apply: you can apply whether or not you own your home. Your household will need to meet certain conditions – find out if you qualify for Warm Front.

How to apply: you can apply online at any time via the Warm Front website, or call free phone 0800 316 2805 (text phone 0800 072 0156) from 8am – 6pm Monday to Friday.
