Supported accommodation

What is supported accommodation?

If you have a mental health problem, learning disability or physical disability and need support with every day living, either in the short or long term, you may be eligible for one of our supported accommodation initiatives.

Supported accommodation provides you with support and accommodation, and where necessary personal care, meals and laundry to help you cope with every day living.

How will supported accommodation help me?

Supported accommodation offers a stable environment for people whose current accommodation does not meet their needs. This environment can:

  • help develop new skills and abilities
  • reduce social isolation
  • help with cooking and laundry support
  • provide a safe and friendly environment
  • help you with skills to manage your future home.

How can I apply for supported accommodation?

Once you have received a social care assessment or a community psychiatric assessment (CPA), then your care co-ordinator will help you to apply for supported accommodation.

Could I offer supported accommodation to others?

We always need homes to provide people with supported accommodation. Whether you are single, a couple or family with a spare room or other accommodation and you have time to give the support that the person will need, we need you.

For more information about the payments you would receive and the standards of care you would have to supply please contact the supported accommodation team.
