Renewing your car badge

Your first badge expires after 3 years. After this you will have to renew the badge every 3 years. We will send you a reminder and application form around 6 weeks before your badge expires.

The renewal form is similar to your original application form and shows us that you are still entitled to use the badge. You will need to include a payment of £2.

If you are have not received your renewal letter within three weeks of the expiry date, you can contact the blue badge team on the number at the foot of this page.

Lost or stolen car badges

Please let us know immediately if your badge is lost or stolen, by calling the blue badge team on the number below.

If you move house

You will not need to re-apply to your new local authority – your blue badge is valid anywhere in Europe. If your badge expires and you have moved out of East Sussex you will need to re-apply to your new authority

But if your address changes please let us know so that your renewal reminder reaches you in good time.
