What is respite?

Respite services offer short-term care for people if you are usually looked after by a relative or carer at home. Respite stays enable carers to take a break.

What does respite offer?

We can arrange a range of different respite services such as

  • planned short stays – this is aimed to give you and your carers a short break
  • non-residential respite – this service is aimed to give you and your carers a break during the day may also be during the evening or at weekends, and
  • emergency respite – this is when you are unable to stay at home for example if your carer is ill.

How can I get a respite service?

To apply for our services you have to receive an assessment which helps us to decide what you need. To find out more call 0845 6080191 (local rate) or read about applying for a service.
