What is community support?

Some people with a learning disability get help with staying at home – living with their families, friends or on their own. This help is called community support.

What does it offer?

Community support can help with public transport, staying healthy, budgeting, cooking, shopping, and dealing with personal relationships.

If you live with your carer, we can help you shop and cook while your carer is away. We can also help you learn new things such as how to buy train tickets or get on a bus.

How can I get community support?

To apply for our services you have to receive an assessment which helps us to decide what you need. To find out more call 0845 6080191 (local rate) or read about applying for a service.
