Considering making a school appeal?

These pages will give you some helpful advice to consider before making a school appeal.

Before you start, have you considered your options?

Accept the place you’ve been offered

This will not affect your right to submit an appeal or your child’s position on a waiting list. But it will guarantee that your child has a school place if no places become available at your preferred school. More about accepting the place you’ve been offered.

Join a waiting list

You may wish to add your child’s name to the waiting list for your preferred school(s). This will not affect your appeal. More about waiting lists.

Request a change of allocated school

It is sometimes possible to change your child’s allocated school provided the alternative school still has vacancies. This is not the same as changing your preference. More about requesting a change of allocated school.
