Information about access to homes and facilities, including shops and parking, during the construction of the Living Cliffe pedestrian improvement scheme.

This page will be regularly updated with the latest information.

Find out more about the Living Cliffe scheme.

Hours of operation

  • Monday – Friday, work may be carried out between 7am and 9pm
  • Some Sunday working will be required
  • Saturday working will be restricted to minimise the disruption to shoppers.

The extended working hours are required to complete the works as quickly as possible and carry out works that may be inconvenient during trading hours.

Parking

Cliffe High Street car park will be closed from Monday 2 June 2008, to store materials. Nearby alternative parking is available in:

  • South Street car park
  • Phoenix car park (behind Harveys brewery)
  • Friars Walk car park (near the Magistrates' Court)
  • on-street parking bays.

Road closure and pedestrian access

Cliffe High Street will be closed to vehicles from Monday 2 June 2008, during the roadworks. Access to properties and businesses will still be possible, from either end of the street.

Traffic from the Friars car park, Railway Lane and Court Road will access all routes via Friars Walk.

The plan below shows the road closure.

Pedestrians will be protected from the works areas using barriers and fencing. Temporary ramps and walkways may be erected from time to time.

Residents and businesses
