They create an alert by writing the details into an automated system that immediately displays that information on this website, emails county council teams and radio stations. Those closures are published live here:

Bus operators have a difficult time during periods of bad weather and unpredictable traffic. You are best advised to contact Traveline to check whether your service is affected.

We do all we can to maintain essential Council services in extreme weather conditions, but please contact us before trying to visit one of our offices or libraries

Essential services include:

  • essential road maintenance.
