Community transport
In addition to public transport services, many local areas are served by community transport. These include:
- Dial-a-Ride schemes
- voluntary car services
- vehicles suitable for wheelchair access.

Dial-a-Ride – Lewes and Seaford
Door-to-door transport services for anyone who finds it difficult to use ordinary bus services, including those with a disability or temporary disability, such as a broken leg.
Lewes
- Tuesdays and Fridays
- £4 return / £2 single (from outside Lewes)
£2 return / £1 single (within Lewes)
- Countycard holders – free
Seaford
- Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays
- £2.40 return / £1.20 single
- Countycard holders – free

Polegate Taxi Rider
Taxi Rider is a local transport service for the residents of Polegate, Wannock and Stud Farm, operated by Direct Travel Taxis, Polegate. It can be used by anyone, for door-to-door journeys to the town centre, including the William Daly Centre. It is especially useful for elderly people and those with reduced mobility.
Operates
Monday – Friday and on Saturday morning.
Single fares (return fares are not issued):
- Adult: £1
- Countycard holder: 50p
- Children under 16: 50p
- Children under 5: Free (if accompanied by a fare paying passenger).
