There are two levels of charging for different parking contraventions in Lewes District. The documents below tell you which penalty charge applies for which type of contravention.

New contraventions
From May 2010, we will be enforcing two new parking contraventions across the county. This includes Hastings Borough, Eastbourne Borough and Lewes District:
- Parking on a dropped kerb
A vehicle parked partially, or wholly, over a dropped kerb may be issued with a parking ticket.
- Double Parking
A vehicle parked more than 50cm from the edge of the kerb and causing an obstruction, may be issued with a parking ticket.

- Lower penalty charges (87k)
- Parking contraventions that may result in the lower charge of £50 (reduced to £25 if paid within 14 days).

- Parking contraventions that may result in the higher charge of £70 (reduced to £35 if paid within 14 days).
