ESCIS

ESCIS is our online listing of local and community information.

What you can find on ESCIS

ESCIS contains details of around 8,000 organisations and activities in East Sussex and Brighton & Hove, including:

  • charities and voluntary groups
  • hobbies, clubs and societies for all ages from sports to conservation
  • tourist information, including festivals, museums and more
  • business information, careers advice and job centres
  • health services, doctors, hospitals, chemists, opticians and dentists
  • support groups, counselling and relationship advice.

We record contact details, general information about what the organisation does, the geographical area it covers and information about access for people with disabilities.

How to update ESCIS

You can add details of your own group or activity to ESCIS – find out how to add an entry.

Library staff are constantly updating the ESCIS website. We ask organisations to update your records once a year by:

  • sending a completed ESCIS form to a local library – forms can be obtained from libraries or from the ESCIS Information Officer
  • or simply changing the organisation details online.
