Library rules

It's free to join, borrow books and use our computers. There are charges for reserving and hiring items, overdue and lost items, photocopying and printing. The regulations and byelaws set out what you can do in libraries.

Comments or complaints

We want to give the best service possible. If you have any comments or suggestions, please speak to staff at your local library or email us.

  • Phone calls – we aim to answer calls within 10 rings, or provide a messaging service.
  • Emails and letters – we'll respond in writing or by telephone within five working days of receipt. If we're unable to respond fully within this time, we'll let you know when you can expect a full response.
