E-library - your account

To check if you owe any money on your library card, you will need your library card number and PIN.

Charges on your library card

It's free to join the library, borrow books and use our computers.

Some services include a small charge which is added to your library card, including:

  • reservations
  • hire charges for DVDs, music and audiobooks
  • fines for overdue loans.

Charges vary according to the type of item borrowed and the type of library card you have. For example, children under 16 do not pay fines. Ask your local library about concessions.

For details of these and other charges, see our fees and charges.

Checking your account

Please remember, if you have loans that are late, more charges may be added to your account when you renew them.

Summary

After you have signed in, your membership summary tells you how much money you owe. It also tells you if your children owe any money on their library cards – you will need to sign into their cards separately for full details.

Loans and renewals

Tells you about charges waiting to be added to your account, such as hire charges and fines.

Pay your account

When you click ‘Pay your account' you will be given full details about charges which are already on your card, showing:

  • title
  • type of charge – such as web reservation
  • date when the charge was made
  • cost.

Although children don't pay fines, an administrative charge may be shown if we send a reminder notice about overdue loans.

If you owe over £5, you can phone 01273 481170 on Monday to Friday, 9am to 4.30pm, and ask to pay by credit or debit card.
