Team Read – summer reading challenge 2008

This year's free reading challenge for children ended on Saturday 6 September.

What happended in 'Team Read'

Every time a child read a book, they collected stickers, bookmarks and other great prizes. Gold medals were awarded to those who read six books and completed the challenge.

Children under four years old collected stickers and won a certificate and Bookstart Bear in the 'Team Read Book Crawl'.

Events included Bean Bag Olympics, drumming workshops, puppet shows, storytelling and crafts.

Prize draw

Everyone who completed the challenge by Saturday 6 September was entered in our prize draw. Prizes included:

• book tokens
• tickets to Legoland and Chessington
• family tickets for the Bexhill Children's Book Festival.

Winners were notified by the end of September.
