Storytimes in libraries

What's on

Who are storytimes for?

Most of our libraries hold free regular storytimes for children aged under five and their parents or carers. You can have fun introducing your children to reading.

Babies and toddlers can also take part in rhymetimes.

What happens at a storytime?

Library staff choose brightly illustrated picture books and read them to the children. The children are encouraged to use pop-up books, lift-the-flap and touchy-feely books, or even books which make noises when you press the button!

When are storytimes held?

There's no need to book for storytime, just turn up and enjoy! You and your child will be very welcome. See our list below to find a session near you.
