When and where is the event?
This year's event took place on Sunday 27 April at Eastbourne Town Hall.
What happened at Readers and Writers Day?
Events during the day included:
- National Year of Reading
It’s 10 years since the last National Year of Reading. We're holding events and promotions in libraries throughout the year to support the nine monthly themes, starting with ‘Read all about it’ in April.
- Author talk with Jenna Bailey
We welcomed our National Year of Reading author, Jenna Bailey. Her book ‘Can any mother help me?’ features a selection of articles and personal stories from the pages of ‘The Cooperative Correspondence Club’ magazine. This private publication started life in 1935 to help women throughout the country combat their frustrations at having their careers cut short by marriage.
- Author talk with Peter James
Bestselling author Peter James will be launching his new book ‘Dead man’s footsteps’ in June. This fourth story featuring Detective Superintendent Roy Grace sees the detective in a desperate race against time to save the life of a woman being hunted down in the streets and alleys of Brighton.
