Books for reading groups

Borrowing books

Ask your library about getting a special reading group membership. We'll show you how to use it and can help you make sure your group is a success.

Groups can borrow multiple copies of the same book. You can reserve these sets in advance by asking library staff. If the book you want is not on our list, we can try to get copies for you.

Ideas for books to read

Looking for ideas for your next book? See our recommended reads or try the 'Book Time' magazine for reading groups available in libraries.

Reading groups sets

Download our list of 'reading group sets' (Excel) – Sets contain several copies of the same book that reading groups and book clubs can borrow via your local library. You can save a copy of this document and then sort by author, title or book genre.

We recommend you plan ahead for the year by booking these sets in advance. These titles can't be reserved online, so please ask library staff to book them for you.

Read aloud books

Download out list of 'books to read aloud' available in libraries (Adobe PDF). We also recommend books that you can read aloud. You can borrow single copies of most of these books, and some are available in sets.
