Large print books

Printed books with big text

You can read bestselling fiction and non-fiction in large print. We also have large print books for children.

We regularly circulate these books around the libraries in the county, so everyone has a chance to borrow a wide range of titles.

You can search for and reserve all these books online, and ask for them to be sent to your nearest library for collection:

Electronic books – ebooks and online reference library

If you can't read printed books easily, try our electronic books instead (known as ebooks). Download the ebooks on your computer at home and then change the size of the text to make it easier to read.

We also provide online reference books on our E-library. You can change the size of the text using your web browser. Titles include Britannica encyclopedia, Who's Who, Times Digital Archive and much more.

Free audiobooks for people with disabilities

If you have a visual impairment or other condition that makes reading printed books difficult, you can borrow audiobooks from libraries free of charge. You can also download audiobooks on your computer at home.

Find out more on our pages below, ask staff at your local library for details or contact our Equal Access Manager.

Home library service

If you have difficulty getting to a library because you are disabled, frail, or are caring for someone who cannot be left, we can bring you our free home library service.
