'The tenderness of wolves'
'The tenderness of wolves'

'The tenderness of wolves' by Stef Penney

As winter tightens its grip on the isolated settlement of Dove River, a woman sets out on the journey of a lifetime. A man has been brutally murdered and her 17-year-old son has disappeared. To clear her son's name, she has no choice but to follow the tracks leaving the dead man's cabin.

Transport yourself to another world with this sensitive and complex tale set in the Canadian wilderness in 1867. The considerable cast of characters are well developed and believable in the context of the harsh frozen landscape.

Intricate plot lines invoke a time and place with depth and detail well beyond that seen in most crime fiction.
