Drusillas
Start your day at Drusillas, voted South East England’s number one attraction. A zoo, with an emphasis on interaction and conservation, and adventure park – it offers a fun day for the whole family. It is open every day (except at Christmas) from 10am.
- Where is it? Approximately seven miles west of Eastbourne, off the A27 near Alfriston.
- How do I get there? Travelling along the A27 from Eastbourne to Lewes, look out for signs to Alfriston. Drusillas is on the left, just past the roundabout.

Alfriston
After an exciting time at Drusillas, wind down with a gentle afternoon stroll through Alfriston. With its narrow streets and quaint cottages, this is a quintessential English village. There are numerous cafés serving light lunches and cream teas.
- Where is it? Approximately eight miles west of Eastbourne, off the A27.
- How do I get there? Carry on along the road from Drusillas, heading south. Alfriston is about one mile further on.
- Nearest train station: Berwick – approximately two and a half miles away.

Eastbourne
To end the day and use up the last of your children’s energy, pay a visit to the seaside. The beach between the pier and the Wish Tower has been awarded a Blue Flag for being safe and clean – perfect for a paddle or swim. If you haven’t got the energy to take to the water, you could just enjoy an ice cream on the historic pier.
- Where is it? At the eastern end of the A27.
- How do I get there? After leaving Alfriston, turn north and head back towards the A27. Turn right onto the A27 and follow the signs.
