Eastbourne Festival

A three week celebration of art and culture within Eastbourne that happens from late April to mid-May. Events include artists open houses, art exhibitions and a film festival.

Brighton Festival

Music, theatre, exhibitions, workshops and open houses – England's biggest arts festival is right on our doorstep. Takes place annually over the first three weeks in May.

The Charleston Festival

A variety of literary events and workshops happenning in late May.

Mayfield Festival

Classical music, international soloists and major choral work. Bi-annual festival that runs for 10 days during early May. Next one to take place in 2012.

Jack-in-the-Green

Traditional music, morris dancing and ceilidhs. Held in Hastings over the May Day bank holiday weekend.

Steyning Country Fair

Celebrates the heritage of Steyning, with traditional crafts and farmers' produce. Takes place on the bank holiday Monday at the end of May.

Rx Wildlife and Culture Festival

Get out and discover the special wildlife along the coast from Hastings to Hythe. Lots of environmental and cultural activities for all the family. Covers the half-term holiday in late May.
