Creative Partnerships – young people in the arts
'Creative Partnerships, Hastings and East Sussex' is an ambitious programme that develops young people’s creativity and aspirations through long-term partnerships between schools and the creative and cultural sector.
We are currently working with sixteen primary and secondary schools, two special schools, three Pupil Referral Units and an Early Years programme. Over time other schools across the county will be involved through projects, events and professional development opportunities. We hope that local schools will become champions of, and experts in, creative learning and recognise how it can animate classes, inspire teachers and connect with parents and wider communities.
But the building of links between the widest range of partners is also important to us, and we are developing relationships with educators, businesses, local authorities and cultural organisations across the county. Through partnerships of this kind, we can share the value of creative learning, and build capacity and ideas that will provide young people and their teachers with even more opportunities.
