Description of art project
Two graphic artists worked with ten young people from rural Rother to produce vibrant cartoon portraits that represented a personal and specific aspect of the teenagers' lives.
These portraits appeared once a week for 10 weeks as full colour pages in the 'Battle and Rye Observer', taking contemporary culture right into the living rooms of 18,000 local residents. The aim was to introduce art to a new audience who may never have visited a gallery.
