Description of art project
Willingdon Community School is a comprehensive school near Eastbourne with a unit for hearing impaired students.
The 'In+visible' project temporarily revealed 'invisible spaces' at the school – such as the staff room, service areas and the outside quadrangle – through a series of architectural and performance art projects.
Architects spent time with students working up ideas and models to improve the quadrangle. They aim to build on this work to create a fully accessible public artwork using sustainable materials within the fabric of the school building – making permanently visible the invisible.
