Training opportunities
We are committed to your ongoing professional development.. There is a wide range of internal training and external courses on offer to staff.
- Newly qualified social workers engage in a comprehensive induction and mentoring programme.
- All social workers are supported to complete the Post Qualifying specialist Award.
- Experienced staff can follow a career pathway in Practice Education, Specialist Practice or Leadership and Management by doing Higher Specialist PQ modules at Sussex University.
- Bursaries are available for attendance at relevant conferences.
- You also have the opportunity to agree a personal development plan at an annual appraisal review each year with your line manager.
Flexible working, breaks and bursaries
We are also pleased to be able to consider requests for a range of flexible working opportunities such as annualised hours, term- time only, career breaks etc.
Children's Services posts only:
- After 2 years successful service we will guarantee you an extended break of up to 4 weeks which can be unpaid or you could use annual leave entitlements towards this break.
- Newly Qualified Social Workers can apply for and receive up to £3,000 bursary.
Relocation
We can offer a relocation package of up to £5,000 to help cover the cost of removal of household effects, legal and professional fees incurred in buying and selling a property and a resettlement allowance. Repayment terms apply should you leave the organisation with 24 months.
