Checks we make on people applying to work with children or vulnerable adults

Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checks, and registering with the Vetting & Barring scheme

  1. For jobs working with certain groups of people, or in certain activities, we will make CRB checks about your background.
  2. In future, employees and volunteers who want to work with children and vulnerable adults in a wide variety of settings may have to register with the Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) before they can be employed. The introduction of registration with the ISA is currently postponed while the new government reviews the Vetting and Barring Scheme.

What do I need to do now?

You don't need to do anything, if the post requires it we'll run these checks and register you with the ISA Vetting & Barring scheme at the time you accept our offer of a job. You will then only be able to take up the post once those checks are completed.
