Wood projects

WoodNet

We developed WoodNet in partnership with the Forestry Commission and local timber growers, with funding from the European Commission. It aims to improve woodland management by promoting links between wood growers and users.

If you are a grower or a wood user, perhaps the WoodNet website can help. From the same website, you can find out about WoodLots, a timber marketing project – wood users can find local sources of wood for building, craft use or fuel.

Woodland Enterprise Centre

The Woodland Enterprise Centre at Flimwell provides a focal point for the wood industries of the Weald.

The centre has brought new job opportunities to the area by reviving rural skills, and is stimulating the regeneration and management of local woodlands by promoting design, manufacture and training in the forestry and wood-using sectors.

Weald WoodFair

The annual Weald WoodFair is the leading woodland, wood-use and woodcraft event promoting sustainable woodland management in East Sussex.

Wood Season

Government funding for this year means we have had to prioritise our spending on essential services such as social care and road maintenance.

We regret that we will not be organising any more Wood Seasons in the immediate future.
