Children's community groups

The Rethink Rubbish Bus, puppet show or Rubbish Heap Challenge game can come to your childrens' community event, including Girl Guide or Scout packs and youth clubs.

Ages 5–7 – the Rethink Rubbish Puppet Show

Meet Robbie the Recycling Tiger, Rashida the reusing mouse and Buster the beastly bin in a show that introduces younger children to waste.

Ages 8–11 – Rethink Rubbish Bus and activities

The Bus is an exhibition vehicle all about rubbish and recycling. It includes games, computers, colourful displays and quizzes. The Bus is also accessible to those with disabilities.

Indoor and outdoor activities and games with recycled prizes (key rings, pencils, pens etc.)

We can also run competitions before or after visiting your school such as ‘design a poster’, ‘write a poem’ or ‘make a model’ using/promoting recycling and offer prizes.

Ages 11+ - the Rubbish Heap Challenge

The Rubbish Heap Challenge game has been designed by the Science Museum for children aged 11 and over.

The session takes about 1 hour 30 minutes and there are four rounds in which the towns can win funding; those in the town with the most money at the end of the game win recycled prizes!
