Arrangements have been made to help the change to the new planning system and make sure there are no gaps in development plan policies. Under these arrangements, old style plans can be 'saved'. Saved plans or policies remain part of the formal development plan for the area for the saved period, or until they are replaced by a new style of plan.
The policies within the Waste and Minerals Local Plans have been saved by the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government (SoS). These policies will remain in force and part of the development plan until they are replaced by a new style of plan.
