Waste Local Plan

Adopted Waste Local plan

The adopted Waste Local Plan, plus full details of previous consultations and the Public Inquiry can be found on the joint Waste Local Plan website.

The East Sussex and Brighton & Hove Waste Local Plan has been produced jointly by East Sussex County Council and Brighton & Hove City Council. It was adopted as both councils' planning policy on 21 February 2006.

The decision to adopt the plan was made by the councils in November and December 2005 and a notice was sent to the Government Office of the South East (GOSE). GOSE confirmed that the Secretary of State would not be calling in the Plan.

Following the change in planning legislation brought in by the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, policies in the waste local plan are ‘saved' until they are replaced by policies developed under the new system as set out in the waste and minerals development scheme.
