Consultation: Validation of planning applications

In 2008, the government introduced new rules for the validation of all planning applications.

For background information, see:

Local Authorities were encouraged to consult on and adopt their own 'local lists' of requirements. These identify mandatory information to be submitted, which helps applicants to prepare planning submissions.

Consultation documents

Our draft guidance documents on the new validation requirements and the local validation criteria can be downloaded below.

The closing date for this consultation was Monday 9 June 2008.

Next steps

We will consider all comments received when adopting a final local list of requirements. The adopted list and national list will then be published on the Planning Portal website and in a leaflet produced by the County Council.
